Sights to visit: Hagia Sophia - Blue Mosque - Grand Bazaar
We will pick you up from Istanbul cruise port and give you a small orientation about the tour.We will across the Galata Bridge, and you can see the Golden Horn from the Galata Bridge. And also you can see the Suleymaniye Mosque which made by Magnificent Suleyman (Kanuni Sultan Suleyman).
In this Istanbul tour, our first stop will be Hagia Sophia, the Byzantine Church of Divine Wisdom. It was built as an Orthodox Basilica and later, it was used as a mosque by Fatih Sultan Mehmet (The Conqueror). Now today, it is a museum. In 1935, The Republic of Turkey decided to use Hagia Sophia as a museum.
When we are done in Hagia Sophia museum, you will have a 1 hour for lunch. There are some good restaurants and cafes in Sultanahmet. Our tour guide can offer you some traditional Turkish food, our you can eat your own.
After the lunch, We will visit the Blue Mosque which is very important for Muslims. This mosque is lined with more than twenty-thousand ceramics. In the garden of the mosque, there are amazing flowers and trees that you have never seen. During this tour, all woman has to cover their hair.
Next visit is the Hippodrome which used by sports game in the Byzantine Empire. After visiting the Hippodrome, we will go to Grand Bazaar. You can see handmade carpets, jewelry, spices, Turkish delights and more… We spend 1 hour here. If you want to stay more in Grand Bazaar, please let the tour guide know. If you want to stay then you should go back to the pier by your own.
